Domain Analysis
Look at a domain from three angles: its DNS records, its email authentication and its website’s technical trust signals, each in the tool built for it.
Questions about a domain rarely stop at one record. Why is email going to spam? Is this domain set up like a real business? Did the DNS change go through? MemonaIQ splits these across three tools that work well together.
Which tool answers what
- DNS Lookup: common record types from Cloudflare, Google or Quad9, SPF, DMARC and DNSSEC status, and registration details
- Email Domain Health: SPF and its 10-lookup limit, DKIM with your selector, DMARC, MX, MTA-STS and TLS reporting, checked against mailbox provider requirements
- Website Trust Inspector: HTTPS, redirects, security headers and internationalized hostnames, summed up in a technical trust score
A typical sequence
Start with DNS Lookup to confirm the records are what you expect, switching resolvers if you’ve just made a change. If email is involved, run Email Domain Health. If you’re assessing a site you don’t control, finish with the Trust Inspector. Email Domain Health and the Trust Inspector need a free account.
Limits to keep in mind
All three read public information. Registrar account details, mail server logs and private DNS aren’t visible.
Common questions
- Can I see who owns a domain?
- DNS Lookup shows registration data published through RDAP: the registrar, status, nameservers and key dates. Owner contact details are usually redacted and aren’t shown.
- Do these tools change anything on my domain?
- No. They only read publicly available records.
